THE PROCESS

Step One is to chat directly either by zoom or by phone? WHY?
It’s a great way for me to understand your goals and ensure that we are the right fit in terms of shooting style and end results. If we aren’t the right fit, I will 100% let you know and direct you to someone who will be more aligned with you.
PLAN
I like to take a 50/50 approach to shooting. 50% of the shots are pre-planned, meaning we know you need them for your business and we have made a list to check off based on your business and gotten creative. The other 50% is fun, fluid and in the moment, we will try new things together.
SHOOT
This is the fun part! Shoot day. I have clients that are everything from super out of their element to embracing and ready to go. No matter what end of the spectrum you are on…comfort is key. My utmost promise is that you feel comfortable and leave our shoot feeling great about yourself and what we accomplished. Give yourself a high five!
SHARE
Within 14 days I will send a proof gallery of your branding shots and ask you to pick the images that you feel help your business shine. Once you pick, I will edit those, do a final check and they’ll be ready!
*A NOTE ABOUT RETOUCHING/PHOTOSHOPPING*
It’s the 21st century, the days of airbrushed, poreless, freckle free, stretch mark-less women are behind us. Good riddance to that era! We now see women all over the media with real and authentic representative bodies. We all want to present our best face forward of course. A great way to do that is with posing, lighting and of course (my personal fave), and incredible makeup artist that enhances your natural features.
My personal mantra on photoshopping/retouching is the two week rule. I will retouch anything in an image that would not be there in two weeks time. So that means a scrape, bruise, hormonal blemish, lipstick on teeth etc. I have got your back. I WILL NOT artificially alter your body or smooth out your face or change your eye colour. I am happy to recommend someone who will if that is what you are looking for because you deserve to have the final images you have invested in :)

Great question and I think you were expecting me to say heck yes! I can truly attest that a branding shoot can level up your business. It did for me! BUT...I don't recommend booking one if your business is so fresh that you haven't nailed down a biz name, services, etc. Maybe just a headshot will suffice to get started. Good thing I offer those too!

Oof! If I could count the times I am told that clients don't like having their images taken, or being in the spotlight or front and center. One thing I do not want you to do, is downplay your zone of awesome, your best features inside and out. There will be no talking badly about ourselves in front of my lens :)

My fave! I think video is the best compliment to professional photography. I do love to shoot and edit branding videos myself, but doing both at the same time is impossible. So while we have everything set up, wardrobe, makeup and location already happening, why not include video. I partner with an amazing videographer. We have done many shoots in tandem that are stunning. Please view them here.

Makeup and hair services are not included in your booking fee but available for all clients. We partner with [Victoria Megan Beauty] for all of our client shoots. My clients love how she focuses on beautiful skin, natural beauty and enhancing natural features. You are also welcome to bring in your preferred makeup/hair specialist.

I would be happy to help you with a guide for planning a wardrobe for our shoot and DO's and DON'Ts of camera friendly fabrics. I will always implore that you wear clothes that make you feel comfortable, yourself and fabulous.

Many times we shoot in your space depending on your business. It just doesn't make sense in many cases to rent a studio (hair salons, commercial kitchens, designer's studios). Often though, it makes sense to rent a studio for our shoot so that we can achieve the lighting situations we desire and the aesthetic. I have a list of preferred studios in the GTA and also a list of less conventional spaces (cafe's, AIRBnB's, and clothing stores).

This is my favourite question because I think it can really make or break a shoot. Props are essential to a business shoot as we all use materials in our day to day busineses. We will talk about props on our planning call and get creative together.

First, you give yourself a pat on the back for doing this. It's an investment into your business and it takes time and planning to make it happen. It will also be fun. Within 14 days, I will send you a digital gallery with colour corrected image proofs and you will select your favourites for final edits. They will be ready for download a week after that and you are ready to share!

Twice A Quarter we pick a beautiful, curated location and offer a one day only branding shoot experience called BRANDING MINIS. These are a great opportunity as they offer savings on location rental and price point. Branding Minis are 45 minutes and include 25 images and 15 stock images at a price point of $650+HST.
